All parties should use the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as he has been recognised in the Constitution as the Father of the Nation, said Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Affairs Adviser to PM.
“Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is our Father of the Nation and there is no debate about it. But other parties don’t use the portrait of Bangabandhu, thus turning him into a political figure”, Salman retorted while speaking at a programme marking the National Mourning Day.

All parties should use the picture of Bangabandhu as he is the Father of the Nation, and does not belong to any particular party, said the PM adviser, urging all to raise their voice over the matter.

In observance of the National Mourning Day, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) held the discussion and doa mahfil at the FBCCI Conference Centre in the capital yesterday.

Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen attended the meeting as the chief guest while PM Adviser Salman F Rahman was present as the Special Guest with FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim in the chair.

Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen, in his speech, described Bangabandhu’s visionary programs and the welfare activities for the common people. He also mentioned the recent socio-economic advancements of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Former Presidents of FBCCI M A Kashem, Mahbubur Rahman, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, Mir Nasir Hossain and A K Azad were present as panel discussants.
