Held at the Maulana Bhashani Stadium, the visiting team - Sports Authority of India led the first half by 3-0 and added as many goals in the second half.

The rookie Bangladesh women could only halt the Indian side to finish the first quarter on goalless as they conceded the first goal on 18th minute.

Indian team, who played rest of the match almost one-sidedly opened the scoring through Vinamrata Yadav and made the tally 4-0 inside half an hour with Lalawn Puii and Tanya scored one each while Vinamrata added another one.  Lotia Mary and Lalruatfeli Mesabi joined the celebration scoring one goal each.

The SAI  who have been in training camp for last three years, also played in outside of India, are stronger than the hosts side, who had only three months training.

The experienced Indian side played without goalkeeper for last five minutes in the third quarter.

Hadeytul Islam Rajib Bangladesh coach said, “Indian team is very strong side and they have huge experiences playing in home and abroad. Our girls played well, specially, in the first and last quarter. Hope they will also gain experiences after playing more matches.”

Bangladesh goalkeeper Shorna was very outstanding when she denied all 10 penalty corners of Indian team.

Rajib, who has been looking after the team for only last three months was happy with the result, said, “I am happy with the girls performance, this team is better than the Kolkata team, who came here last year.”

“This team obviously a better side than some of the teams we will play in Singapore in the Asian Junior Under-21 competition. They are also physically stronger than Bangladesh girls.”

“Six goal in hockey is no matter, hope our girls will also get maturity after playing matches against the strong opponents like this.”
