66 varsity teachers give statement in support of professor Farouq

66 teachers of different universities gave a statement in support of Professor ABM Farouq, the former director of the Biomedical Research Center of Dhaka University, criticizing alleged obstruction against him. The statement was sent to media yesterday by Dr. Fahmidul Haque, Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University.

The teachers who signed the statement are Dhaka University teachers Gita Ara Nasrin, Samina Lutfa, Tasnim Siraj Mahbub, Mohammad Mojibur Rahman, Kaberi Gayen, Arpita Shams Mizan, Jahangirnagar University's teachers Anu Muhammad, Raihan Rain, Shadhin Sen, Sahid Suman. Shehren Ataur Khan of Jagannath University, Rajshahi University teachers Souvik Reza, North South University's  Mobashar Hassan and others.

The statement said that the teachers’ community has anxiously noticed that following a new research conducted by the former director of the Biomedical Research Center of Dhaka University, Professor ABM Farouq, on samples of milk, he is receiving various threats and undue pressure.

"Despite facing pressure, Professor Farouq and his team traced the presence of antibiotics in milk samples again in the second phase of testing.  

He has published the results in the public interest, and he is confident about the results of these tests.  He did not do anything  against the policy. "
