A mango orchard on 250 acres to be set up

A huge mango orchard sprawling on a total of 250 acres of land will be set up under a project named ‘Amer Bari’ in Panchagarh, according to a press statement.  

Greenatic Limited, the pioneer of Commercial Agro Farming in Bangladesh, has embarked on the project to cultivate four popular varieties of mangoes.

An inauguration ceremony was held on Saturday at Gulshan in the capital. Chairman of Artisan Outfitters Anita Gomes, Chairman of Greenatic Ali Ahmed Rasel, Brig General S M Ferdaus of Bangladesh Army, Mohammad Anisuzzaman Highway Police Super, Bangladesh Police, Mosaddek Hosen, Joint Commissioner-Tax, Government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Marufuzzaman Koel, President of Nilphamari Chambers of Commerce, Mustafizur Rahman, owner & CEO of Spinz, and Jalal Ahmed Khan, GM-Thakral Information Systems Pvt Ltd, among others were present at the programme.

The guests appreciated the innovative project that will provide chemical-free fruits and recreation facilities. It will help the next generation to enjoy the nature and green environment closely, they added.

Brig General S M Ferdaus of Bangladesh Army commented that if Greenatic Limited can successfully execute the project it will help thousands of people get safe fruits in future. Managing Director of Greenatic Limited Mohammad Kamrul Hasan said it will be one of the biggest mango orchards in Asia and will be a unique project offering many attractive features like butterfly garden, bird aviary, cactus garden and a marvelous resort. One lakh mango trees will be planted under this project, he said adding that in India Reliance Group has a big mango orchard with one lakh thirty five thousand mango trees.

According to the press release, by September 2019 twenty thousand grafted mango trees will be planted under the project while the garden will be completed with one lakh trees by 2021.
