Salman F Rahman, the prime minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser, yesterday said the present Awami League government would gradually fulfill all the election pledges. “Work in many government projects has been started already and more projects are on the pipeline,” Salman said while attending an Iftar programme organised by the Nababganj upazila unit of Awami League (AL). Addressing a gathering of people there, Salman, a lawmaker from Dhaka-1 constituency that covers Dohar and Nababganj areas, said work in a number of projects has already started as per the promises he made for his electorate before the polls. The adviser said he has already handed over the

monetary allocation, which he gets from the development budget of the government for his constituency, to the local public representatives of upazilas and unions concerned so that the funding can be spent well. “I even handed over the sum that I get as honorarium as a lawmaker to the chairmen of the union parishads under my constituency,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Salman F Rahman laid the foundation stones for the Nababganj model upazila mosque and Islamic cultural center that are being constructed at a cost of Tk 13.40 crore.
