Bangladesh prepare to play next match against Kyrgyzstan

Bangladesh girls are looking forward to playing their next Bangamata Gold Cup Under-19 Football Tournament with an aim not to replicate the mistakes which they did in the previous match against United Arab Emirates.  

Bangladesh will take on Kyrgyzstan on April 26 in their second match.  

Hosts Bangladesh despite making a winning start in the Bangamata Under-19 Women’s International Gold Cup football tournament are not happy with the winning margin as they defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 2-0 despite creating ample scoring opportunities.

Team coach, Golam Rabbani Choton, captain Misrat Jahan Mousumi, striker Sirat Jahan Sawpna expressed their disappointment about their winning margin, though they are satisfied with starting the campaign with winning note. During a practice session yesterday at the Artificial Turf Ground adjacent to the Bangladesh Football Federation Bhaban, Sirat Jahan Swapna, who scored one off two goals against UAE, replying to a query to reporters, said, “In fact, it is not correct that we played a selfish game, you saw, we tried hard and opened scoring chances, somehow could not mark the targets from every opportunity.”

“I don’t want to mention anything to be the highest scorer but will try to utilise the chances which will come to our ways. In fact, our main objects are to win the matches, no matter who would be the highest scorer, but whoever will score, team’s win is the main thing,” said Swapna.

Captain Misrat Jahan Mousumi expressed the almost same opinion about their previous match about the low scoring win – “We won against Emirates by 7-0 in an AFC Under-16 competition last year and this time in the Under-19 level we won by an only 2-0 margin, but it doesn’t mean we took UAE lightly. We never underestimate any team, we always take seriously every opponent.”
