An unknown song of Bidrohi Kobi (rebel poet) Kazi Nazrul Islam titled ‘Cholre Chapol Tarun Dal’ along with a music video will be released on several satellite channels on the occasion of the upcoming Independence Day of Bangladesh.

It’s part of an initiative taken by renowned Nazrul Sangeet singer Sadia Afrin Mallik, who is also the recipient of Nazrul Padak, to work for the proper recognition of the national poet’s unknown songs among audiences in the country.

The singer has been working with ‘Gems of Nazrul’ since 2016 to achieve this goal by releasing the rebel poet’s rare songs on special occasions.

Taking another step towards this goal, noted Nazrul Sangeet singers of the country, namely Dalia Nawshin, Fatema Tuz Zohora, Yasmin Mushtari, Iffat Ara Nargis, Champa Banik, Suptika Mandal and Wakil among others have lent their vocals for ‘Cholre Chapol Tarun Dal’.

Earlier tuned by Kamal Dasgupta, the new music arrangement of the song has been done by Tanveer Alam Sajib while the music video of the song has been done by Baro Bhoot.

DhakaLive has news that the music video was shot at various locations of Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

About the song and the initiative, Sadia Afrin Mallik said, “We are choosing the unknown songs of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, which are usually are not heard nowadays. With this initiative, we are trying to inspire the younger generations to fall in love with their country.”

“From the very beginning, Nazrul Sangeet singers from different music colleges and universities are giving their support for this cause. So on this upcoming Independence Day, the audience will find another rare song penned by our national poet,” she added.
