Rajshahi-based theatre artiste Dwijendra Nath Banerjee paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 99th birth anniversary through a day-long solo exhibition on the premises of Bangla Academy yesterday.

The exhibition featured photos on language, literature, culture, education, history and others. The artiste depicted the history of Bangladesh and portrayed the culture of Bangladesh through his works. Besides, the exhibition also included a special segment called ‘Bangabandhu Corner’ where photographs of Bangabandhu and his family members were displayed.

Dwijendra Nath Banerjee said about the exhibition, “It was my desire to organise an exhibition on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birthday.

That’s why I came from Rajshahi and organised the exhibition. I am grateful to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs for patronising my exhibition.”

Supported by Bangla Academy, the exhibition was dedicated to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Hailing from Dinajpur, Dwijendra Nath Banerjee is the former headmaster of Seroil Government High School in Rajshahi. He also acted in several theatre plays. He received the best dramatist award conferred by the Peoples Theatre Association in 2001. He is the writer of a book named ‘Patingbora’ published by Bangla Academy.
