New VP-elect of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haq Nur expressed solidarity with the students of Ruqayyah hall who went on hunger strike on Wednesday night demanding re-election to the hall union and withdrawal of the hall provost.

Nur went to the hall gate around 1:30 pm to express his solidarity.

Talking to reporters at the hall gate, Nur said that the students’ demand is logical as the irregularities in the election are proved. “Now the administration should arrange a fresh election fulfilling the demand of the students.”

The Ruqayyah hall provost should step down over the irregularities in the hall union election, he said adding “ I am always with the students.”UNB.
