IFC country manager meets PM adviser Salman F Rahman

Wendy Werner, country manager (Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal), International Finance Corporation (IFC), yesterday met Salman F Rahman, the private industry and investment adviser to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

During the meeting, the officials from IFC informed the adviser of the ongoing joint programmes of the Bangladesh government and IFC, a press statement said.

M Masrur Reaz, senior economist, IFC, and Asif Ibrahim, former founding chairman, Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD), also took part in the discussion.

Rahman focused on measures taken by the government to facilitate and expedite business and trade in the country.

“The business community and the people of the country are benefiting from the change that the honourable Prime Minister brought in the power sector to expand and expedite business and trade,” he told the IFC officials.

He further mentioned that the government wants to exceed several milestones by developing the country through a direct role of the private sector aided by its favourable measures.
