‘Rong Beronger Korhi’, ‘Botol Bhoot’ to be screened today

Indian-Bengali anthology film ‘Rong Beronger Korhi’ (Colours of Money) and an adaptation of ‘Botol Bhoot’, a short-story of iconic writer Humayun Ahmed with the same name, will be screened today at the Public Library Auditorium in Shahbag of the capital.

Both the films will be screened as a part of the ongoing 17th edition of ‘Dhaka International Film Festival’ (DIFF) taking place at the various venues in the capital. ‘Rong Beronger Korhi’ will be screened at 3pm in the festival’s Cinema of the World section, while ‘Botol Bhoot’ will be screened at 10am in Children section.

Written and directed by Bengali filmmaker Ranjan Ghosh, ‘Rong Beronger Korhi’ features National Award-winning actress Rituparna Sengupta, veteran cine actor Chiranjeet Chakraborty, critically acclaimed actors Ritwick Chakraborty, Soham Chakraborty, Kharaj Mukherjee, Arunima Ghosh, Arjun Chakrabarty and others.

On the other hand, ‘Botol Bhoot’, directed by Meher Afroz Shaon, moves forward with a seven-year-old boy named Humayun and a spirit confined in a bottle resembling Rabindranath Tagore. The boy seeks help from the ghost to help him out as he is fed up with his uncle and math teacher’s constant insistence on studying.

The film stars Mamunur Rashid Abdullah Rana, Khalilur Rahman, Kaderi, Abul Kalam Azad, Shahnaz Shumi and Jhuna Chowdhury, among others.
