Two-day National Poetry Festival to begin Feb 1

A two-day National poetry festival titled ‘Kobita Utsab’ organised by the Jatiyo Kobita Parishad will be held on February 1 and 2 on the premise of Dhaka University campus in the capital. The registration for the 33rd version of the annual festival is going on in the TSC from January 1 and will continue until 31 January. The registration fee for the Dhaka region is TK300, while TK200 for district level. Poet Asad Chowdhury will inaugurate the festival on February 1 on the Dhaka University premises. Poet Habibullah Siraji will be honoured at the two-day festival for his contribution to the poetry.

To disclose the information, a press conference was held yesterday at Dhaka University. Presided over by the Jatiyo Kobita Parishad president Dr Mohammad Samad, General sectary of the Parishad read out the written speech at the event. The press conference was also attended by Poet Asad Chowdhury, Anwara Syed Haq, Asad Mannan, Kazi Rozi, Dr Harisul Haque, Foyzul Alom Pappu, Kobi Hanif Khan and others.
