West Indies hard-hitting opener Even Lewis raked up his fifty from just 18 balls-the third fastest fifty as West Indies batsman after Shai Hope and Chris Gayle and the fifth fastest overall in Twenty20 International cricket.

The marauding fashion he started, it deemed at one stage, he broke the fastest fifty records what he had that opportunity ahead. Even he had chance to match the record of his compatriot Shai Hope, who smashed fifty from 16 balls against Bangladesh in Sylhet. Blockbuster T20 batsman Chris Gayle slammed his fastest fifty from 17 what he did against Sounth Africa.

Evin Lewis whacked his 18-ball fifty that littered with five towering sixes and three boundaries and finally fell to Mahmudullah after scoring 89 off 36 with eight maximum along with half-a-dozen boundaries.

Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh topped the chart with his 12-ball fifty. New Zealand batsman Colin Munro placed second with 14-ball fifty in T20I cricket.

Riyad’s career-best T20 bowling

Bangladesh deemed hapless in the wake of devastation by the West Indies batsmen especially Even Lewis, who stormed with his bat to silence the local crowds for a while. Mahmudullah Riyad put the brakes on the scoring-spree of the West Indian batsmen.

While West Indies were 120 for 2 after nine overs, captain Shakib Al Hasan brought in Mahmudullah Riyad, who brought back Tigers in contention. By getting rid of dangerman Even Lewis and Shimron Hetmyer in two successive deliveries of his first over, the all-rounder made a hat-trick chance though Nicolas Pooran finally spurned it.

Riyad later removed Rovman Powell to claimed three-wicket haul that bettered his T20 bowling figures of 3-18 in 3.2 overs. His previous best T20 bowling figures was 2-1 what he got against Afghanistan in Dehradun in June 2018.

Evin Lewis’s long distant six

West Indies opener Evin Lewis mesmerised local crowds with his power-hitting spree what he launched from the beginning of the series-deciding Twenty20 series. Lewis, who is well-known here for his batting prowess what he did in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), showed his devastation most to Abu Haider Rony’s over where he conceded 27 runs. Lewis hit four sixes in that over, the first of which was distanced 104 metres.

But his long-distance six was of 107 metres what he struck Mohammad Saifuudin in the last ball of the sixth over. In T20, there are many more records of such distances. Pakistan Shahid Afridi, West Indies Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Breet Lee, David Millar, B McCullum clubbed long-distanced six in their T20 career.
