Awami League Joint General Secretary Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak  on Saturday said Jatiya Oikyafront leader and Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain has stepped into field to establish Jamaat, the organization of war criminals, in politics.

“BNP’s founder General Ziaur Rahman rehabilitated the killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He (Zia) also rehabilitated banned Jamaat-e-Islami in politics…Now Dr Kamal is trying to protect Jamaat in line with Ziaur Rahman,” he said, speaking at a press conference at AL president’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi.

AL Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretaries Ahmad Hossain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim and BM Mozammel Haque, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, Youth and Sports Secretary Harun-or-Rashid, Information and Research Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain and AL central leader Md Akhtaruzzaman, among others, were present in the press conference.

Nanak said Dr Kamal and ASM Abdur Rob had no contribution during the Liberation War or any other crisis moment. Dr Kamal is a conspirator in the country’s politics, he added.

The AL leader said Dr Kamal and his men are parasites and they do politics in camouflage. No development would be possible by them, he added.

He said Kamal and his men are now doing politics under the leadership of self-proclaimed corrupt, convicted and fugitive BNP leader Tarique Rahman.

Nanak said BNP and Jatiya Oikyafront are hatching conspiracies to make the 11th parliamentary election questionable as they realized that the people of the country are not with them.

He urged the opposition leaders to cooperate the Election Commission to hold a free, fair and peaceful election by avoiding violence.BSS.
