4th new crafts int’l exhibition begins today

An art exhibition titled ‘Brilliant, 4th New Crafts International Artists Group Exhibition’ will begin today at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital.
The exhibition is an initiative of Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, Tsinghua University and Shanghai Art and Design Academy of China, supported by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Bengal Foundation, said a press release.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the exhibition today at 11:30am at the auditorium of National Art Gallery as the chief guest.
Chinese Cultural Counselor Sun Yan and Director General of Bengal Foundation Luva Nahid Chowdhury will be present on the occasion as the special guests.
Professor Nisar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka and Lu Xiao Bo, Dean, Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University will give the welcome speeches with Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair.
While the academic seminar sessions will be held at the R C Majumdar Auditorium of Dhaka University at 3pm. Yang Dong Jiang, Vice President, Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University will inaugurate it with noted artist Professor Rafiqun Nabi in the chair.
The exhibition will remain open to all every day from 12pm to 8pm, until December 15.
