STAFF REPORTER, Dhaka
Oikyafront names candidates in 300 seats today

Jatiya Oikyafront will disclose today names of its candidates who will run from all 300 constituencies in the upcoming 11th parliamentary polls. The names will be announced at a programme at 3pm today. The decision was taken at a meeting of the steering committee at alliance top leader Dr Kamal Hossain’s Motijheel chamber yesterday, according to meeting sources.

The steering committee also decided that Oikyafront’s Shurawardy Udyan rally scheduled for December 10 will be postponed. The alliance also decided to announce its election manifesto on December 17.

“We wanted to hold a public meeting at Suhrawardy Udyan on December 10. It is now being held for the time being. However, we will announce the election manifesto of the Oikyafront of December 17,” Oikyafront spokesperson and BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters after the meeting.

Earlier in the morning, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that Oikyafront would hold a public meeting at Suhrawardy Udyan on December 10.
