Landslides kill 11 in Rangamati

At least 11 people were killed while three others remained missing in separate incidents of landslides in Boro Pool, Shikolpara and Hatimara areas of Naniarchar upazila early Tuesday amid heavy rains in the district.

The details about the victims could not be known immediately, said Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Naniarchar Police Station.

Besides, vehicular movement on Rangamati-Chittagong highway remained suspended as the road went under water in Thandachari area.

Many low-lying regions of the district have been waterlogged due to the incessant heavy rains over the last two days.

It is highly likely that similar showers will continue for two more days, Met office said.unb.
