Wife killed by husband in Magura

A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Lashkarpur village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday.

Elias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Magura Police Station, said Hashem Mollah got married to Khadiza, daughter of Iqbal Hossain, 15 years back.

As there is no issue of the Hashem-Khadiza couple, Hashem again married a woman and since then he used to torture Khadiza.

On March 6, Hashem and Khadiza picked up a quarrel over a family feud. At one stage, Hashem beat Khadiza up mercilessly, leaving her critically injured.

He then sent Khadiza to her father’s residence where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.

On information, police recovered the body and arrested Hashem Ali in this connection.unb
