4 killed falling off train roof in Naogaon

Four train passenger were killed after falling from the roof of a running train at Raninagar upazila in Naogaon early Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Jahangir Alam, 19, in Chirirbandar of Dinajpur, Munir Hossain, 22, Chaitapara village in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur, Aminul Islam, 29, Malipur village in Sappahar upazila and Apel Mahmud, 26, Titopara village in Boda upazila of Panchagarh.

Santahar railway officer-in-charge (OC) Akbar Hossain said, The incident happened around 3:30am Wednesday at Raninagar Railway Station when six people were travelling from Dhaka to Dinajpur on the roof of Drutojan Express train and hit by a footbridge near the station.

All the six people fell off the roof and four of them died on the spot, he added.

The two injured were taken to the Naogaon Sadar Hospital.
