Iranian film show begins in capital today

A six-day Iranian film show will kick off at the Bangladesh National Museum in the capital today and the inaugural ceremony will be held at the main auditorium of the museum with the famous Iranian film ‘Body Guard’ directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia as the opening screening, reports UNB. Iran Cultural Centre, Dhaka and Bangladesh National Museum will arrange the film show on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran (National Day).

The film produced by Ehsan Muhammad Hasani was first screened at the 34th Fajr International Film Festival. Bodyguard is the story of a middle-aged man who protects high-ranking political figures. However, he gets into trouble when a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest approaches to the vice president. The director of the film stated "some motifs Bodyguard to recollect his 1999 hit The Glass Agency.

The movie bagged three top prizes (Best Art Direction, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director award) at the 3rd Vienna Independent Film Festival (VIFF 2017) in Austria last year.

Alongside, the movie ‘Sweet Taste of Imagination’ produced by Mohammad-Ali Hossein-Nezhad, and ‘Trik’ by Iraj Ghaderi, dubbed in Bangla, will be screened on February 10 while the audience can enjoy ‘Fourth Child’ by Vabid Mosiayan and ‘Earthquake’ by Sirius Alvando, dubbed in Bangla, on February 11.

‘Crazy Rook’ by Abolhassan Davoodi and Kiumars Poorahmad's latest drama ‘Where are my shoes’  will be screened on February 12, while the screening of ‘A Cube of Sugar’ by Seyyed Reza Mir-Karimi and ‘Golchehreh’ by Vahid Shamsaei, is scheduled for screening on February 13.

Two movies ‘Cling Up’ dubbed in Bangla by Golam Hossain and ‘Today’ by Seyyed Reza Mir-Karimi will be screened on the last day (February 14) of the film show. The movies will be screened with English subtitles at 11am and 3pm every day. The screening is free for all.unb
