32 shanties gutted in Ctg fire

Some 32 tin-shed houses were gutted as a fire broke out at a tin-shed colony in Mohammadnagar area under Bayezid Bostami Police Station of the city early Wednesday.

Purnachandra Mutsuddhi, deputy-assistant director of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defense Station said the fire originated from a tin-shed house of road No 5 of the colony around 2am and soon engulfed adjacent houses.

On information, three units of firefighters from Bayezid Bostami and Chandanpura stations rushed to the spot and doused the flame after one and half hours of frantic efforts, said Purnachandra.

However, no causality was reported.

The losses cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately. unb
