A three-day Sangskritik Sammelan (Cultural Conference) organised by Udichi Shilpi Gosthi took place from December 28 to 30, 2017 on the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the capital. Presided over by vice-president of Udichi Central Sangsad Dr Chandan Das, former president of Udichi Central Sangsad Golam Mohammad Idu, president Probir Sardar attended the closing session as discussants on December 30, the final day of the conference.  


 
After the closing discussion, a cultural programme was held. Udichi Tongi Shakha Sangsad staged a dance-drama, Magura district unit of Udichi staged a mimodrama and artistes of Udichi Madaripur district unit presented traditional folk songs at the programme. Several district units of Udichi also attended the conference with their performances.

The programme came to end with a performance of play ‘Nachleela’ by the artiste of Udichi Gopalganj district Sangsad.

Earlier on December 28, folk artiste Abul Hashim inaugurated the three-day conference on the Shahid Minar premises, where former president of Udichi Central Sangsad Syed Hasan Imam, Golam Mohammad Idu and Kamal Lohani, among others, were present.

With the slogan ‘Drohe Bidrhohe Biplobe, Gori Biswa Sapto Sure’, the three-day conference featured gambhira, gajir gaan, dhamail, jari gaan, pala gaan, gono sangeet, tribal dance, dance-drama, mimodrama, recitation and others.

Besides, several stalls were set up at the venue, those showcased around 40 local traditional musical instruments, photographs and books.
