Prize itself will hunt down the author for his works: Poet Rafiq

“No award is enough to set the value of a literary book. But it is true that we feel good whenever a good book is rewarded. I think, ‘Duti Gatha Kabya’ is one of my good works, which achieved the reward. It’s a good pleasure for me. One thing should be remembered that there is no need to run behind a prize. It demeans the motivation of writers. Prize itself will hunt down the author for his works. I am thankful to them who gave the award in recognition of my works. Especially I am giving thanks to jury members who picked my book”, poet Mohammad Rafiq told to DhakaLive about his award ‘Gemcon Literary Award’.

Like the previous years, the Gemcon Literary Award 2017 was held to honour and inspire writers. The award giving ceremony was held on Thursday at Bangla Academy’s Abdul Karim Sahityabisharad auditorium. Poet Mohammad Rafiq was awarded with the Gemcon Literary Award for his poetry book ‘Duti Gatha Kabya’.

“This book was mine before, then it belonged to the publishers, and through this award, it’s now on the way to all,” Mohammad Rafiq added.
