The curtain will fall on 16-day ‘Bangladesh Film Festival 2017’ today through an award ceremony followed by screening an award winning film at the National Art Plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital.

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will attend the closing ceremony as chief guest, while cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam, noted film directors Masihuddin Shaker, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and actor Ferdous Ahmed will be present as special guests. Presided over by BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, BSA Drama and Film Department Director Badrul Alam Bhuiyan will also be present as the ceremony.

Before award ceremony national award winning film, ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’ directed by Morshedul Islam and written by Humayun Ahmed will be screened at 4pm at the same venue.

Centring the story of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, the film ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’ directed by noted film director Morshedul Islam, has been produced under the banner of Bengal Creations. The film was shot in Dhaka and other different locations of the country. Aref Syed plays the role of Anil Bagchi, while Jyotika Jyoti shares the screen as Anil’s sister in the film. Other important casts of the film include Gazi Rakayet, Farhana Mithu, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, A.M. Mohsin, Khalilur Rahman Quaderi and Misha Shawdagar, among others. Popular musician Sani Jubayer has directed the music of the film.

Along with this, a seminar titled, 'Dhrupodi Cholochittro: Poriprekkhit Bangladesh' will be held at 11am.

After the award ceremony, the best film awarded in the ceremony is going to be screened and after that the ‘Bangladesh Film Festival 2017’ will be officially announced to be finished.
