The shooting of a new film titled ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ has been kicked off this Saturday under the direction of eminent actor-director Alamgir. The camera started rolling to film a scene at 1:30pm on floor number 4 at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in the capital.

Veteran actor-director Syed Hasan Imam and internationally-acclaimed singer Runa Laila inaugurated the film’s shooting formally by saying Bismillah. Director of ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ Alamgir, his daughter, singer Akhi Alamgir, actor Arefin Shuvo and eminent Indian Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta and Akhi’s two daughters, Sneha and Arya, among others, were present at that time. The shooting of the film will continue till September 30, Alamgir informed.

The story, screenplay and dialogue of the film have been written by Alamgir himself. Asaduzzaman Majnu is the cinematographer for the film. Actress Champa is also set to play a role opposite Alamgir in the film.

Runa Laila said, “Best wishes for ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’. With this film, I am going to make debut as a music composer. The song which I have tuned is written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and sung by Akhi Alamgir. Other songs of this film are also marvellous. On the whole, ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ is a film with a wonderful story.”

Syed Hasan Imam said, “I liked the story of the film. Besides, Alamgir is a qualified director. I hope his new film will be far better than his previous films.”

Arefin Shuvo said, “I am going to act with Alamgir sir in the same frame for the first time. Not only this, I will work under his direction also. I am considering the opportunity as a big achievement for my film career. I will try to enact my character properly giving my best effort.”

Rituparna said, “I worked alongside Alamgir sir in a film before. He is a high profile actor. Now, after many years, I am going to act with him under his direction. Overall, it feels really amazing.”

“Stepping into FDC after a long time, I am recalling old sweet memories. I am remembering Razzak sir, and actor Manna. Overall, working for ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ will be a job of reminiscing old memories for me. I hope it would be a wonderful film in the end”, she added.

To note, ‘Ekti Cinemar Galpo’ is being produced under the banner of Alamgir’s own production house, Icon Entertainment.
