“Every time I visit Bangladesh, it seems to me that I come to my home. Dhaka is one of my favourite cities. Though the politics and law divide the two countries, the culture of both Bengals are same. As a cine artiste, I support joint venture production. The fence of barbed wire cannot separate our culture. I want the artistes of Bangladesh work in India, as well as the artistes of India work in Bangladesh”, veteran Indian film actress Sharmila Tagore said at the programme titled ‘Sharmila Tagore-Jeet Gannguli Live In Dhaka’ at Bashundhara International Convention Centre in the capital on Saturday.

On the occasion of celebrating the 20th founding anniversary of satellite TV channel ATN Bangla, Channel Live Entertainment organised the event, where Sharmila Tagore attended the programme as a guest and Indian music composer and singer Jeet Gannguli delighted audience with the rendition of some his popular songs. Chairman of ATN Bangla Dr Mahfuzur Rahman was also present at the programme.

Jeet Gannguli took the stage with his popular song ‘Ki Kore Toke Bolbo Tui Je Amar’. Then, he performed his popular numbers, including ‘Its 100 % Love’, ‘Ore Jia Re’, ‘Monta Kore Uru Uru’ and others.

Beside Jeet Gannguli, Indian singer Doyel Goswami also performed the songs ‘Rim Jhim-e Dharate’ and ‘Ualla la’ on the stage. In the earlier segment of the programme, Bangladeshi artistes Nadia, Chandni and Tareen presented group dances with the popular songs from the films acted by the iconic actress of the subcontinent, Sharmila Tagore.
