MUNSHIGANJ, FEB 3: At least 10 BNP men including newly formed district Juba Dal president Tarik Kashem Khan Mukul were injured in rival attack at party office here on Friday.
Eyewitness said that Sultan and Babul along with about 50 activists attacked Mukul and his associates at around 11 am at the district BNP party office. Sultan allegedly led the attack on Mukul as he was not been chosen for the post of district Jubo Dal president, party sources said. Among the injured Tarik Kashem Kham Mukul was admitted to Sadar General Hospital and later he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as his condition was deteriorating. Mofijul Islam Innu, vice-president of district Jubo Dal told this correspondent that when Abdul Hai, district BNP president and Mizanur Rahman Sinha, treasurer of central BNP committee visited Munshiganj district office with the presence of all members of the newly formed committee, a faction of Juba Dal district unit attacked the office.
151 member Jubo Dal district committee was formed after 16 years with Mukul as president and Iqbal Hossain Somrat as general secretary.
