Keraniganj, Feb 3: A young man, who used to supply frames of spectacles at different parts of the country, was stabbed to death by muggers near Jinjira Ferry Ghat here this (Friday) morning. The victim was identified as Nawab Ali, 30, son of Akbar Sharif of Sonauta village in Amtali upazila in Barguna district. Currently, he was living in Gulzarbagh area under Keraniganj Model Police Station.
Police said Nawab returned from Barisal by a launch in the morning with money after selling frames of the spectacles.
A gang of 3-4 muggers intercepted him at Jinjira Beribadh Road at about 6:30am on his way to his residence. Later, the miscreants stabbed him in the abdomen and chest and looted a bag containing the money, leaving him injured critically.
Later he died at Mitford Hospital.    UNB
