On April 30, Barrister Manzoor Hasan, founding executive director of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and advisor to BRAC University's Institute of Governance Studies (IGS) was elected chairperson of the board of governors of the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC). Hasan has been a member of BYLC’s board since January 2009, and he will be taking over from Zafar Sobhan. The leadership training programme of BYLC was developed in Harvard University and has been successfully implemented in Bangladesh as a pioneering concept with the aim of creating a more inclusive, tolerant and just society through training and awareness.
