DHAKA: The main opposition BNP Chief Whip Zainal Abedin Farroque on Thursday came heavily upon the government for harassing the party chairperson Khaleda Zia by tangling her with false accusations.
“The government has dishonored BNP chairperson and leader of the opposition Khaleda Zia producing her before the court in connection with fake and politically motivated charges,”
Farroque was speaking at a human chain formed by a group of former students of Mymensign Medical College to protest the omission of Ziaur Rahman’s name from the auditorium of the college, in front of the National Press Club in the capital.
“Our party chief Khaleda Zia is being harassed and dishonored by the ruling government by compelling her to appear before the court in connection with baseless allegations – including misappropriation of Zia Charitable Trust fund,” he said.
