Using unused radio waves to make electricity!

Using unused radio waves to make electricity!

This very revolutionary idea, sourced from ‘The Telegraph (UK)’ and published only in your ‘the weekend independent’ magazine of 9th October, should be a very important subject for Bangladesh to follow up on, given our perennial shortage of conventional electric power.

Unfortunately, there has been no reaction from our authorities, as well as the plentiful ‘buddhijibis’ (intellectuals), who are mostly wrapped around our topsy-turvy political arena, which will possibly remain a perpetual and prime issue of conflict for the helpless citizen!

This writer would appeal to our researchers in physics and related branches of alternative sources of electric power to kindly research the matter and the way to go forward on this unconventional source of electricity. It appears that it may soon be harvested and utilised in the UK, where it seems that patents have been applied for to harvest this source of electricity.

Not being an electrical engineer, this writer who graduated in engineering way back in 1954, frankly could not comprehend the subject nor understand much about it. Can the electric power related scholars at BUET or the Dept of Physics at DU (Dhaka University) and associated researchers at BCSIR kindly throw some light on the subject? Any feedback on the subject would be most welcome!
