Rangpur metropolis will be drug-free zone soon

Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Abdul Alim Mahmud on Wednesday announced that Kotwali Thana area of the metropolis will become free from drug and terrorism soon.  “Everything will be done to eliminate drug, theft, robbery, terrorism, extortion and other criminal acts from Kotwali Thana area ,” Alim said this while visiting Kotwali Thana of RpMP.

Earlier, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana of RpMP Abdur Rashid welcomed the Police Commissioner with bouquet. RpMP Chief asked the police personnel of Kotwali Thana to remain alert and discharge duties with utmost sincerity so that anti-social elements could not carry out drug trading and commit any crime within the jurisdiction of the police station.

 “Police must ensure filing of general dairies and cases by aggrieved persons without any harassment at police stations so that people could tell that the Kotwali Thana of RpMP is people-friendly,” the RpMP chief added. Deputy Police Commissioner (Crimes) of RpMP , Kazi Muttaki Ibne Minan, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Shahidullah Kowsar, Assistant Police Commissioner (Kotwali Zone) Jamir Uddin and other police officials were present.
