The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is keen to find out some quality leg-spinners and fast bowlers with high pace from the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League and therefore it advised all the participating teams to include such player at mandatory basis. The BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon yet again instructed all the seven participating teams to include leg spinners and quality fast bowlers at the playing eleven in the upcoming special edition of Bangabandhu BPL.

Since the World Cup T20 is scheduled to take place in Australia next year, the BCB boss earlier voiced the same words saying that the two types of bowling options should be given priority in the upcoming BPL in search of specialist bowlers regarding the two categories. In fact, the BCB also sacked two local coaches not for adding leg spinners during the NCL this year.

Nazmul Hasan Papon while talking to the reporters at the SBNCS yesterday said that, “We’ve instructed all the teams that we want to see at least one leg spinner and a quality fast bowler who can bowl at 140+ in each side. This is our guideline. But it can only be then practicable when the tournament kicks off. This is what has been said to them. I hope in 90 percent cases, they will follow the instruction,” the BCB boss said.

“This is our guideline in fact. Everyone is advised to comply with this. A leg-spinner and a pace bowler who can bowl with 140 KM speed should play and it is said. I think in 90 percent case, they will play,” BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon said here yesterday.

The rumour that every BPL team would have to appoint a foreign coach created a huge uproar amongst the local coaches. But the BCB chief made it clear that appointing foreign coach is not mandatory for a team.

“To appoint foreign coach is not mandatory,” he said. “It’s up to the team sponsors that what they want. If they want local coaches, they are allowed and if they want foreign coach, we have no complain on it,” he added.

Papon further said if BCB takes the responsibility of all teams, they would have done everything according to their wish.

“Since we have taken sponsors, so there is option. They can bring up two foreign players. It’s their wish how many players they would bring up. There is list of coaches. If they want, they can take coach from here, it’s

additional. We haven’t imposed anything on them.”

The BCB boss also said, the board isn’t worried the budget of the pompous inaugural ceremony of the BPL because the sponsors will bear all the expenses of the programme to be held on December 8.

Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are set to light the stage on fire in the opening ceremony while singers like Sonu Nigum , Khailas Kher also perform their respective roles in the ceremony. Nagar Boul James and Mamtaz from the country will also perform in the gala event.
