Mash sustains groin injury

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury said Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s injury on his groin is not serious that will be healed after taking rest for some more days.

“Mashrafe sustained injury during his practice. Our physio has seen him,” Dr Debashis Chowdhury said.

“I didn’t see him yet. He was scheduled to come here today. But he didn’t come,” Chowdhury told media.

“What our physio told me his injury is nothing serious. It will be healed after taking rest for some days, he added.

Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was far from cricket in the aftermath of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in United Kingdom (UK). On the other hand, he was picked by Dhaka Platoon for the ensuing edition of the Bangabandhu-Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) that is knocking at the door as the domestic blockbuster Twenty20 Cricket tournament is scheduled to get underway on December 11.

And so, he started individual practice to hone his batting and bowling skills and techniques ahead of the special BPL without franchisee. Mashrafe received injury on his groin during his batting practice session at the National Cricket Academy of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur Academy on Sunday.
