Editor Khalidi gets time to face ACC quizzing

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday accepted a time prayer by online news portal bdnews24.com Editor-in-Chief Toufique Imrose Khalidi for rescheduling the date of questioning over his alleged involvement in accumulation of illegal wealth. The editor, however, went to the ACC headquarters in the capital yesterday morning as he did not received any response to his time petition submitted on November 07. ACC officials informed Khalidi that his time prayer was accepted and asked him to go back, as the commission would inform him of a fresh date later.

The ACC has decided to summon Toufique on a later date as his application filed on November 7 sought two weeks time, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee told reporters. The bdnews24.com editor sought the time on ground of his professional engagements, he added. Earlier, the ACC sent a letter to Khalidi on November 05, signed by ACC Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar Pradhan, asking the editor to appear before the commission on November 11 (yesterday).
