NCL 5th round begins today

National Cricket League (NCL) for the 2019-2020 season will resume with the fifth-round fixtures without the national players at four different grounds across the country today after another three-day break.

All the Tier-1 and 2 matches of the country’s oldest domestic first class cricket competition will simultaneously begin at 9:00am.

Khulna division will take on Rajshahi Division at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur, whilst Rangpur Division will compete against Dhaka Division at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram in top-tier encounters.

Sylhet Division will face off Dhaka Metro at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) in Cox’s Bazar while Chattogram Division will lock horns with Barishal Division at the Barishal Divisional Stadium in other Tier-2 outings.

Khulna led the points-table with 26. 46 points after the conclusion of the fourth round matches of the NCL. With their triumph in last round game, they consolidated their position on the points-table. They are yet to concede any defeat but won twice out of four matches. The Tier-1 leader edged past Rangpur Division by a neck of one wicket in the fourth round following their stamp over Rajshahi Division. Dhaka Division secured second place by accumulating 20.6 points. They won one out of four matches.

Rajshahi, on the other hand, chalked up 13.61 points playing four matches. Even though they won a match, they lost two outings. Rangpur placed at bottom with 8.22 points. Even though they lost two matches, they are yet to win any match.

In Tier-2, Sylhet Division climbed to the top-spot with 22.54 points. They have mixed-bags of results in their four-match in pouch. Dhaka Metro pushed Chattogram back to claim second position on the points-table. They bagged 17.8 points with having an identical win and lose record.
