Mominul, 7 other Test players leave for India

Even though there is no presence of regular captain Shakib Al Hasan and batting mainstay Tamim Iqbal, the existing players don’t feel any additional pressure playing against top-notch India at their own backyard. The new and fresh players are ready to take the responsibility and prepared themselves well to face India. They want to play their natural games being pressure-free against mighty opponents. Before flying to Nagpur, India to join with the other Test squad players, the young member of the Test squad Shadman Islam Anik and Saif Hassan expressed their determination. Led by Mominul

Haque, an eight-member squad includes Imrul Kayes, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nayeem Hasan, Abu Jayed Chowdhury Rahi, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury, Shadman Islam Anik and Saif Hasan flew to Nagpur by a flight of Air India Airlines at 11:45am yesterday.

Bangladesh will play their Test series against India without their regular captain Shakib Al Hasan, who has been suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) from all kinds of cricket for two years for not reporting to ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of three corrupt approaches of a bookmaker in 2018.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave stopgap charge to its regular Test performer Mominul Haque Saurav, who wants to stay scare-free with the team that has been made up of new young and experienced players.

There are no batting mainstay-Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan in the Test squad, the fact that mounted an extra pressure on overall team combination but the young players are poised to handle the pressure rather they want to play their usual game against India.

“There is no pressure in the team. The way we play against the other team will try to play against India,” said Shadman Islam Anik, who passed a good form in domestic cricket especially in the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL) before flying for the Test series.

“Without Shakib bhai, it will be a great pressure for us and our team as well. But as there are Miraz and Taijul bhai, hopefully they will handle it tactfully,” Anik told media at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Saif Hassan has been called-up for the first time in the national team. Normally, he is in good form. The career of his domestic league is enriched. He also said he wants to stay pressure-free.

Both Bangladesh and India will play Test with pink-ball for the first time ever. And so, both the teams’ players are somewhat worried along with extra thrilling. Their practice for the last few days with pick-ball has not been bad for them rather it will give impetus to their games in Test.

Bangladesh will face off hosts India in their first Test against India in Indore on November 14.  By then, the visiting Bangladesh will play their second and last Test with pink-ball that will roll onto the ground at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 22. Surrounding that Test, the cricket board of the two countries have planned a special arrangement to make it memorable.
