‘Domer Madar’ on Mahila Samiti stage today

Today, as part of ongoing 10-day drama festival titled ‘Bangla Natya Utsab’, theatre troupe Natyam Repertory will stage its maiden production ‘Damer Madar’ at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samiti in the capital’s Baily Road area.

The play ‘Damer Madar’ is based on an ancient Bangla folk narrative. Folk narratives are most enriched tradition of Bengal for thousands of years. Those narratives are mainly flourishing through oral text.

Celebrating the completion of Mahakal Natya Sampraday’s three-decade journey in the theatre world, the troupe has organised the festival featuring Bangla dramas from Bangladesh and three other Bangla-speaking states of neighbouring India.

Besides,  two more plays—‘Pulsirat’ by Prachyanat and ‘Secret of History’ by Bunon Theatre will be staged at the National Theatre Hall and Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Segun Bagicha and one play ‘Tantra Mantra’ by Chandrakala Theatre will be staged at Donia Studio Theatre Hall in Donia of capital this evening as part of the festival.

All the plays will be staged at 7pm simultaneously.
