Train communication resume after 6 hrs in Kishoreganj

Train communications of Kishoreganj with other parts of the country were restored after six hours of suspension following derailment of a train yesterday.
Ferdous Ahmed Biswas, in-charge of Railway Police Station, said a bogie of a Bhairab-bound local train from Mymensingh veered off the tracks around 2 pm, halting train communications on the route.
On information a relief train from Akhaura went to the spot and conducted salvage operation.
The train communications were restored around 6:10 pm.
3 held with 5 geckos in Bogura

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members have arrested three people along with five geckos from Barduaripara area in Sherpur upazila.
The arrestees were identified as Md Shamsuzzoha Bin Tareque Neon, 20, son of Sherpur upazila Jubo League president Tariqul Islam, Md Nurunnabi, 50, son of late Dalil Uddin Mondal of Chakdhali village, and Md Makez Ali Sheikh, 32, son of Shukur Ali of Mirzapur village in the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-12 conducted a drive on the third floor of at a five-storey building of Md Shafiqul Islam Ranju around 3pm on Monday, said a press release on Tuesday morning.
During the drive, the elite force arrested the trio and rescued five geckos, it said.
A case was filed against the arrestee under the Bangladesh Wildlife (Preservation) Act with Sherpur Police Station, said its officer-in-charge of Humayun Kabir.
Lightning kills farmer in Magura

A farmer was killed in a lightning strike at Berakchhi village in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahjahan Sardar, 30, of the village. Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said a thunderbolt hit Shahjahan while working in his field in the morning, killing him on the spot.
Locals recovered his body.
Two girls drown in Joypurhat

Two minor girls who went missing on Monday evening was found dead in a pond of Purbo Uchna village in Panchbibi upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mariam Akhter, 6, daughter of Rubel Hossain, and her cousin Munira Parvin, 5, daughter of Mokhlesur Rahman of the area.
Md Mansur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station, said the two children went to the nearby house of their relatives on Monday evening for having dinner. They went missing while returning home.
Their bodies were found floating in the pond on Tuesday morning, he said, adding that they recovered those on information. The bodies were sent to Joypurhat Modern Hospital morgue for autopsy, OC added.
Phensidyl recovered in C’nawabganj

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 518 bottles of Phensidyl from a mango orchard at frontier of Shialmara village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Monday night.
BGB said, acting on detective information, a patrol team of BGB 59 battalion from Shialmara border outpost raided the aforesaid area around 8:30pm and recovered the Phensidyl in an abandoned condition.
Later, the seized bottles of Phensidyl were deposited with the Narcotics Control Department, BGB added.
