At least 615 dengue patients were admitted to the different hospitals across the country yesterday.

Of them, 198 were admitted to different Dhaka hospitals and 417 to hospitals outside the capital.  

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room, the number of dengue patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in the country is 2,485.   

In total, 993 patients are currently receiving treatment in 41 government and private hospitals in the capital, whereas a total of 1,492 patients are undergoing treatment outside the capital.    

As of now, the number of recorded dengue patients has hit 82,454. Among them, at least 52,636 were hospitalised in August alone.  A total of 79,766 patients have already

been released from hospitals.

About 97 per cent of the dengue patients admitted to different hospitals across the country have been released  after treatment, according to health officials.   

The DGHS has so far analysed 116 out of 203 cases of death and confirmed 68 deaths to have been caused by the mosquito-borne disease.
