At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups of staff at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday. The clash broke out between brothers (nurses) and pathologists yesterday morning over collecting reports from the pathology department on the second floor of the new building of the hospital. According to eyewitnesses, the four brothers of the hospital went to the pathology department in civilian clothes.

They insisted the pathologists for a report but they delayed as the rush of patients was there. At one stage they locked in a clash over the issue. Hearing the news, head of the Department of Pathology Dr Abdul Aziz Khan and a senior pathologist rushed to the spot tried to calm them down. Later, the brothers left the place.

But after a while hospital brothers brought out a procession towards the pathology department and the pathologists protest them and locked in a clash again leaving 20 people injured.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Director Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.   When contacted doctor Aziz said he tried to convince the nurses but they attacked him.  During the time a tense situation had prevailed in the area.
