Sohel Taj to launch reality show for a healthy society

Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj, the youngest son of Bangladesh’s first Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmad, yesterday said he will work in building up a healthy society through resolving different social problems in a bid to build Sonar Bangla as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

To realize his dream, Sohel Taj, also the former state minister for home affairs, will launch a reality show titled ‘Hotline Commando’ to be aired on RTV, a private television channel in the country, from coming September.

Addressing a press conference in the capital’s Sonargaon Hotel yesterday, the former ruling Awami League minister, said he wants to do something better for the country’s people. In this show, he will travel across the country with his team to connect people from all walks of life and will share his knowledge with the people on healthy living.

‘Sonar Manush’ (golden people) is needed to fulfil the dream of Bangabandhu to build Sonar Bangla for which 30 lakh martyrs sacrificed their lives, he said adding that he took the initiative for building up ‘Sonar Manush’.

He will project the problems and solution of the country’s people and their lifestyle, food habits as well as the condition of their physical and mental health through the reality show ‘Hotline Commando.’

“I had been thinking of physical and mental health, habits and modes of lifestyle, increasing awareness and good practices of the country’s people for a long period. ‘Hotline Commando’, a lifestyle-based reality show, has originated from this thinking,” he said.

The members of Team Hotline Commando will make people conscious and help them practically to choose the easy and effective way of lifestyle, he added.

Replying to a query about his involvement in politics with Awami League in the near future, he reiterated his commitment to remain beside the ruling party during its crisis period.

He also said that he together with the Team Hotline Commando will knock on the doors of people of different walks of life.

The reality show will be telecast twice a month from coming September on Tuesday. The preparation of telecasting first 12 episodes of the programme has already been made.

Earlier, Sohel Taj promised to reveal ‘a good news’ for the country’s people through a video message posted on his verified Facebook page on July 14. l
