to be staged today

Le Ngoc Theatre from Vietnam will stage its play ‘Kim Tu’ today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital. The play will be brought to the stage as a part of the first edition of the weeklong theatre festival titled ‘Bangladesh International Theatre Festival’.

Directed by Dr Chua Soo Pong, ‘Kim Tu’ is the Vietnamese version of ‘The Wilderness’. Chua Soo Pong is a stage director from Singapore. He came to Vietnam and met Vietnamese famous actress Le Ngoc, founder of the Le Ngoc Drama Club, and they jointly developed the adaptation of ‘The Wilderness’. The play highlights the severe fight in people’s mind and heart.

Aiming to promote and expand the theatrical productions worldwide, Cultural Ministry, in association with BSA and International Theatre Unit, has organised the festival. Besides, the event is supported by Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation.

The mass audiences can enjoy the festival through an online registration, which is free of cost. For registration, the audience have to visit www.internationaltheatrefestbd.com.
