Mashrafe leaves Dhaka to join WC team

After a short break of three days, Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza left Dhaka on Wednesday morning to join the Bangladesh World Cup team in England.

After that, Bangladesh captain will attend the press conference of the captains of the participating team in the World Cup on May 23. 

On the same day, the Bangladesh team will fly to Cardiff from Leicester. After that, the Tigers will prepare themselves for the warm-up games against India and Pakistan. The Tigers will face India on May 26, and they will lock horn against India on May 28. 

After the two warm-up games in Cardiff, the Tigers will fly to London where they will start their World Cup assault against South Africa on June 2. 

Before the World Cup campaign, Bangladesh have won the tri-nation series in Ireland, which had also involved West Indies. Including the final of the contest, Bangladesh beat West Indies three times in the series. In the final, the Tigers won by a big margin of five wickets. SoumyaSarkar and MosaddekHossainSaikat smashed two fifties to seal the rain-interrupted game in The Village, Dublin. 

The triumph in Ireland was Bangladesh's first-ever win in a final after failing in six occasions in the last decades. 

Bangladesh are now set to prove their prowess in the World Cup. In the last showpiece event in Australia and New Zealand, the Tigers have played in the Quarterfinal stage. They are upbeat to go all the way this time around. 

Like every other participating teams, the Tigers will play nine matches in the World Cup. Bangladesh captain said earlier that if they can register a good start to the event they will go for something big.UNB.
