Bangladesh Football Clubs Association (BFCA) has threatened to boycott the second-leg of Bangladesh Premier League if the participating clubs’ dues are not cleared immediately.

The announcement came from a meeting of the newly formed clubs forum at a local hotel in the capital yesterday. The BFCA  announced a 79-member committee including seven advisers.

Headed by Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, president of the newly formed organization, announced the name of the members and the advisors when he gave ultimatum to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for declaring the AGM date of the BFF and to provide the report one month before the AGM, otherwise they (BFF councilors) will call an alternative general meeting.

Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, when addressing the meeting  urged the BFF president and said, “Mr president, we honour you, please accomplish your commitment what you gave before being elected.”

Tarafdar also threatened that they might boycott the league from the second leg of the Bangladesh Premier League. “BFF will have to pay all the dues of all the participation money of the teams (Bangladesh Premier League, second division and champions league) before the start of the second leg of the Bangladesh Premier League, or else we will think further whether we will play the second leg of not.”

Tarafdar demanded of paying Tk 40 lakh to each premier league club, Tk 20 lakh to each of the champions league club. He said even the second division teams have the right to get participation money.   

Tarafdar also the secretary general of the District and Divisional Football Organizers Forum, expressed his condemnation to Mahfuza Akhter Kiron (BFF women’s wing chairman) blaming  her for making derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.  

Tarafdar said, “Despite two top level executives in the BFF, who are also the members of the parliament, it is wonder that we did not listen any comments from the BFF, we are shocked there was no decision from the BFF regarding Mahfuza Akter Kiron.”  

Meanwhile, Abdul Gaffer, member of the advisory committee, Kamrunnahar Dana, Imtiaz Sultan Jony, Sheikh Mohammed Maruf Hossain (representative of Dilkusha Sporting Club), Sarwar Hossain (representative of Mohammedan Sporting Club) also addressed in the meeting.
