BBS places seven-point demand

The Bangladesh Brahman Sangsad (BBS), an organisation for the Brahmin in Bangladesh, has placed seven points demand to the government by holding a press conference at Jatiya Press Club yesterday.

General secretary of the Sangsad Bijay Krishna Bhattacharya, in his written speech urged the government to establish a special university named Vedic University for booming Sanskrit language for the Hindu community in the country.

In the speech, Bijay also urged the authorities concerned to recruit Pundit (Hindu scholar) to the high schools for teaching Sanskrit language for the students of the Hindu community and provide allowance for the Hindu priest, working in different temples.

The president of the Sangsad Lt Col (Retd) Niranjan Bhattacharya has informed that Bangladesh Brahman Sangsad was established recently for helping the Brahman community of the Hindu religion.

Already, 151-member executive committee has formed and the organisation has also held a Brahman delegates conference recently.
