‘A Scribble Story’ wins best experimental film

‘A Scribble Story’, an experimental manor film from Bangladesh, won the best experimental film at this year’s January edition of ‘The 12 Months Film Festival’ (12MFF) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The film is directed by independent filmmaker Faridul Ahasan Shourav and produced by Safwath Tasnia Priyanka.

Following the rules of the festival, the jury made the final list of 57 films in 17 categories for the January 2019 edition. The jury announced the winners of the festival of 12MFF on February 4.

At the announcement of the final stage, ‘A Scribble Story’ of Bangladesh won the best experimental film of the month among the top three best movies as the jury decided. Besides, the film won third place in online voting.

Faridul Ahasan Sourav said, “‘A Scribble Story’ is a 10-minute film, which is originally a storytelling experiment.”

It took four months to complete the shooting of ‘A Scribble Story’ at different spots of Dhaka.

The cinematography of the film is done by Sahela Akter Umama, Rehnuma Antika, Nusrat Nowrin, Shuvo Dutta, Mahnoor Tabassum Meem, Zamim Hossain Chowdhury and Muzaddid Al Arifin. Solika Akter and Nivedita Alice worked as vocal artistes in the film.

With the aim of promoting and displaying unconventional films, ‘The 12 Months Film Festival’ is a well-known platform for sharing films in Europe for appreciating diverse filmmakers all over the world.
