Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s latest film ‘Shonibar Bikel’ (Saturday Afternoon), the first part of the director’s identity trilogy series, has received clearance from the Bangladesh Film Censor Board on Wednesday. Confirming the news, Jaaz Mutimedia’s chairman Abdul Aziz, one of the producers of the film, said, “Without any complications, the film received an uncut censor certificate. We intend to release it at the end of the March. If not possible, then we will release it in the beginning of April. We need preparation for the film’s promotion and other procedures.”

Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, member of Bangladesh Film Censor Board said, “The film is quite unique and beautiful. It cannot be called a commercial film.”

Member of Bangladesh Film Censor Board, Iftekhar Uddin Nawshad said to media, “The story of the film is similar to the subject of ‘Holey Artisan incident’. The film doesn’t mention the name of Holey Artisan at any point, and presented a different attack. The story is parallel and technically enriched.”

The film casts Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Zahid Hasan, Mamunur Rashid, Nader Chowdhury, Intekhab Dinar, Iresh Zaker and Gousul Alam Shaon from Bangladesh, while Palestinian actor Eyad Hourani and Indian actor Parambrata Chatterjee are also among the other cast in the film.
