Prangonemor to stage two plays in India

Theatre troupe Prangonemor is going to stage two of its much-acclaimed plays in two different festivals in India. The troupe has been invited to stage their popular play ‘Ami O Rabindranath’ at the 17th edition of the Desh Bidesher Natya Mela organised by Ritwik theatre group in India. The play is scheduled to be staged today. Based on the life and works of Rabindranath Tagore, the play has been scripted and directed by Nuna Afroz. Besides, Nuna Afroz has designed the stage.

The cast of the play includes Ananta Hira, Ramiz Raju, Awal Reza, Saroar Saikat, Touhid Biplob and Nuna Afroz, among others. Musical arrangement has been done by Ramiz Raju, while Touhid Rabin did the lighting design. On the other hand, the troupe will stage its play Hasonjaner Raja’, based on the life of famous Bengali poet, mystic philosopher and songwriter from Sylhet Hason Raja, at 34th the Kolyani Natya Utsab on December 16.  

Written by eminent writer Shakoor Majid, ‘Hasonjaner Raja’, which is the 13th production of the troupe, has been directed by Ananta Hira. The different roles of the play are performed by Ramiz Razu, Awal Reza, Mainul Tawhid, Sagor Roy, Shuvechchha Rahman, Jewel Rana, Asha, Prokriti, Preeti, Badhon and others.

Fayez Jahir has designed the stage for the play, while popular singer Selim Chowdhury is the music advisor and music of the play is planned by Thandu Raihan. l
