2 held 'with arms' in Chapainawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two suspected arms traders from Sonamasjid Jalshukarbil in Shibganj upazila on Thursday, reports UNB.

The arrestees were identified as Nazrul Islam Ataur, 40, son of Dukhu Mia of the upazila and Alamgir Molla, 30, son of Mansur Molla of Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district.

Tipped off, a team of RAB-5 conducted a drive in the area around 6:30 pm and arrested them along with one foreign made pistol, two magazines, four bullets and Tk 37,417 in cash, said a press release of RAB-5.

Later, they were handed over to Shibganj Police Station.

The arrestees had long been involved in arms trading, said RAB officials.
